CREATIVE THINKING: HOW TO BOOST IT

Already a year since the lockdown in Mexico started and I know there are more negative adjectives than positive ones that describe it, I want to share with you how I took the best out of it and how my creative thinking had a nonstop journey.

As I always say, “first things first”. Let’s start with the definition of creative thinking:

Literally it refers to use abilities and soft skills to come up with new solutions to problems.

The word creativity means a phenomenon where something new is created.

I, with no doubt, felt that in my brain happened a really big phenomenon that won’t let me stop creating new stuff and I’m totally grateful for that cuz as an illustrator, I’m always afraid that the ideas would stop but this year has not been like that.

Do you have an artistic mind? Sure you do!

When we were kids our parents, teachers, tutors, etc, always encourage that part of us. It is part of our childhood. The IMPORTANT thing here is that we keep exercising our brain and the best part, to have fun with it. Never force things!

Have you ever heard about your creative muscle?

Well, as we grow up we tend to stop exercising that muscle. WHY!? Being an adult doesn’t mean that we have to be the Tin Man and to stop feeling and have that creative thinking, on the contrary we can dedicate our entire lives to be as creative as we want.

CREATIVE THINKING has so many benefits!

Creative thinking will provide you with so much benefits you wouldn’t imagine. What are those?

  • Positive thinking
  • Problem solving
  • Good memory
  • Mental agility
  • You will look younger and prettier (I like to think that)

You name it! This is food to your brain!

What triggers you?

I’ve had two specific moments in my life that boosted my creative thinking and both were a little crucial. The first one was when I quit a job. I wasn’t that happy and the second one was this lockdown year. Little bit weird, right! Both were quite bad situations and I made lemonade with those sour lemons.

You never know what life has prepared to you, kid!
